The DHA exam is a Prometric-delivered, computer-based licensing assessment from the Dubai Health Authority. Every healthcare professional who wants to practise in Dubai — from doctors and nurses to dentists, pharmacists and medical laboratory technologists — must pass the exam for their specialty as part of the licensing process. Questions are single-best-answer multiple-choice, mapped to your profession's clinical blueprint, and results are reported as pass/fail only — DHA doesn't disclose your exact score.
Most DHA exams run to around 150 questions within a 150–180 minute window, though the exact question count and duration vary by profession. The pass mark also differs by specialty: general practitioners, dentists and pharmacists are typically held to a 60% threshold, registered nurses around 50%, and lab technologists around 55%. DHA does not publish every specialty's exact cut-off publicly and can revise requirements without notice, so always confirm the current figure for your profession on the official Sheryan portal before booking.
